Short Biography

Abdulkareem Husham is a Master's graduate in Surveying Engineering Technologies from the Middle Technical University, College of Technical Engineering, Baghdad, Iraq. His research interests lie at the intersection of remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and water resources monitoring, with a particular focus on the application of multispectral satellite imagery for environmental analysis. He has contributed to two published scientific works: "A New Water Body Extract Index Utilizing Sentinel-2 Satellite Imagery: A Case Study of Bahr Al Najaf, Iraq" (IOP Conference Series, 2025), and "Utilization of Remote Sensing and GIS Approach for Surface Water Monitoring in the Najaf Sea, Al-Najaf Providence, Iraq: An Overview" (E3S Conferences, 2025). His paper presented at TMREES26 provides a comprehensive review of Earth observation methods used to detect invasive aquatic vegetation, with an emphasis on applicability to Iraqi riverine environments.
