Short Biography

Dr. Joseph Al Asmar is a Lebanese academic, researcher, and consultant specializing in energy systems, renewable energy, and cogeneration technologies. He holds a PhD in Automatic and Control Engineering from the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard, France, where his research focused on optimization and modeling of cogeneration systems applied to the Lebanese electrical sector. He also earned Master’s degrees in Mechatronics from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik and in Physics from the Lebanese University.

Dr. Al Asmar serves as Assistant Professor and Chargé for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the Faculty of Engineering of Antonine University, Lebanon. He has also lectured and supervised graduate research at Saint Joseph University (USJ) and previously taught at the University of Balamand.

His expertise covers green energy systems, combined heat and power (CHP), waste-to-energy technologies, and environmental optimization. Since 2008, he has contributed to numerous industrial and renewable energy projects and has advised the Lebanese Ministry of Environment on sustainable technologies and environmental management policies. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and an ABET IDEAL Scholar.
