A professor of physics, he is a faculty member at Laser Sciences and Technology Department in College of Applied Sciences, University of Technology, and head a research team there. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics from Al-Mustansiriya University in 1991, a master's degree in laser physics from the University of Aberdeen, UK, in 1990, and a doctorate in laser and plasma physics from JMI University, India in 2004. He has made numerous scientific and administrative contributions to the development of his academic institution throughout his service at the University of Technology. His research focuses on laser-matter interactions and laser technology applications. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate students and taught a number of physics courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. He has published and reviewed numerous research papers and articles in local and international journals. He has participated in many scientific conferences and seminars both in Iraq and abroad.
